The Mammoth Community Water District (MCWD) had a busy construction season, completing a mix of in-house and contractor-led projects. See below for a list of some of the higher-profile projects:

  • MCWD Campus Repaving – The two-season paving effort at the MCWD office was completed.
  • Tank Lining – Contractors lined multiple water storage tanks; adding years of life to the tanks.
  • Facility Roof Replacements – Aging roofs at multiple MCWD facilities were replaced by contractors.
  • Laurel Pond Monitoring Wells – In coordination with regulators, MCWD hired a contractor to drill new monitoring wells at the wastewater effluent site.
  • Lateral Replacements – MCWD crews replaced aging water lateral infrastructure on Hill Street.
  • ARV Upgrades/Replacements – Crews assessed and upgraded or replaced nearly 70 air relief valves (ARVs) and laterals across the community.
  • New Fire Hydrants – MCWD installed one new fire hydrant on Old Mammoth Road near the entrance to Valentine Reserve. Several additional hydrants are planned pending USFS permits.
  • Sewer Inspection Vehicle – The most notable ongoing maintenance effort was the replacement of MCWD’s sewer inspection vehicle. The new equipment has significantly improved the District’s ability to inspect the sewer system.
  • Ongoing Annual Maintenance – Three MCWD maintenance crews conducted routine maintenance on infrastructure throughout the community.
